The Welsh Government has started a second consultation on reforming council tax in Wales. The first consultation took place in 2022, but only 1,000 people took part. As residents in Monmouthshire are likely to be significantly impacted by the Welsh Government’s proposals, I hope you will read the new consultation and make sure your voice is heard.
Over the last 24 years since the start of devolution, Council Tax in Wales has gone up by 200% and at the last re-banding, a third of properties ended up paying more council tax.
I hope you will take this opportunity to have your say on these extensive changes to Council tax in Wales. The consultation closes on the 6th February 2024
