Local MS, Peter Fox, recently met with representatives of the Goytre Fawr Community Council to discuss their concerns about safety in the village of Llanover, and their petition which received over 400 signatures.
During his visit, Peter saw the large amount of traffic running through the village, and how difficult it was for pedestrians to cross the carriageway to access the bus stops on either side.
Peter has written to the South Wales Trunk Road Agent to request a joint meeting to discuss the concerns of the community, and potential solutions.
Peter Fox, Member of the Senedd for Monmouth, has said:
“It was great to meet with Goytre Fawr Community Council to see the issues faced by residents firsthand.”
“I always enjoy taking the opportunity to meet with residents and groups to see issues in person, and the different perspective this provides.”
“I have now written to SWTRA to request a meeting with all those concerned to discuss the issues first hand and to see what solutions are available.”
“We will hopefully now see some progress, and get an outcome that is suitable for everyone.”
