To celebrate 25 years of Tŷ Hafan, Peter Fox MS paid homage to the children’s hospice charity in the Senedd during plenary after visiting their Abergavenny shop.
Since opening their doors in 1999, Tŷ Hafan have provided incredible hospice care for 1051 critically ill children and their families. Funded primarily through their shops and charitable donations, they deliver palliative and end of life care services, therapy and advocacy across South Wales.
In the Senedd, the Member for Monmouth said:
“The work of Tŷ Hafan is needed now more than ever as the prevalence of children with life limiting conditions in Wales has increased by 25% in the last decade.”
“It is clear that the work of Tŷ Hafan will continue to be ever important in our society and funding to facilitate this must follow. ”
On the anniversary, Tŷ Hafan’s Interim CEO Jason Foster stated:
“As we mark 25 years of Tŷ Hafan, we can look back on all we have achieved with a sense of pride and accomplishment. However, to ensure that Tŷ Hafan is there for the next 25 years, and beyond, it is vital that we have the continued support of the public, Senedd Members like Peter Fox MS, and businesses across South and West Wales. We’d like to thank Peter for his contribution in the Senedd, with his support helping keep us in the public eye and helping ensure that we can be there for the next 25 years.”
