Speaking in a debate in the Senedd, Peter Fox has called on Labour Ministers in Cardiff Bay to stand up to their colleagues in Westminster and protect the people of Wales.
Labour’s Budget is built on the back of keeping pensioners cold this winter, hiking national insurance contributions for working people, and destroying the family farm as we know it.
In the Senedd, the Welsh Conservatives brought forward a Senedd motion on Labour’s Budget, and are calling on the Welsh Government to take urgent action to support our pensioners, protect our farmers, and use any extra funding to reduce NHS waiting lists.
Peter Fox also expressed his disappointment in the inability of Labour MPs in failing to stand up to the Chancellor when it came to the axing of the Winter Fuel Payment.
Speaking in the debate, Peter Fox MS said:
“Be in no doubt, by failing to oppose UK Labour’s budget of broken promises, Labour ministers in Cardiff Bay are failing the people of Wales.
“If Labour were serious about standing up for the people of Wales, they would oppose the tax increases by their colleagues in Westminster.
“The Welsh Conservatives will not yield in the pursuit of fairness for our pensioners, workers, farmers, businesses and for better political choices like the prioritisation of our Welsh NHS.”
