Commenting on the news that obesity in Wales is worse than feared, Peter Fox MS said:
“This news highlights the fact that we need a more joined up approach to our food system here in Wales to educate and promote healthy and sustainable food.
“I am glad that the Future Generations Commissioner is taking this issue seriously demonstrating how important this issue is for our children and the future of Wales.
“I hope that the First Minister will take decisive action and build on the foundations laid by my Food (Wales) Bill.”
Peter Fox’s Food (Wales) Bill was voted on last year but was rejected despite receiving widespread support from an incredibly wide variety of stakeholders across Wales.
