Today, Peter Fox MS met colleagues from Monmouthshire County Council to discuss a range of topics including issues linked to congestion in and around Chepstow, concerns were particularly raised about the 20mph blanket speed limit.
Pressures on the National Health Services as well as social services were discussed with particular emphasis on the struggles that Health Boards are facing, not only in Monmouth but across Wales.
The Councillors also discussed the issue of access to affordable housing across the constituency, highlighting the need for a holistic approach to new house building, ensuring each new estate has a adequate infrastructure implemented alongside them.
Concerns were also raised by councillors regarding the state of pollution in Welsh rivers, particularly in the river Wye.

“It is incredibly important that all levels of government work together to ensure that the people of Wales get the public services they deserve, and this can only be done by increasing collaboration.
