The record-breaking petition calling on the Welsh Government to scrap its 20mph default speed limit is set to be debated in the Senedd.
Almost half a million people have signed the petition, the largest petition in the history of the Welsh Parliament.
Speaking after the debate, Peter Fox MS said:
“Almost half a million people have signed this petition, calling on the Welsh Government to put a stop to this unpopular policy and it is long past time they were heard.
“This policy, combined with Labour’s lack of infrastructure investment, is causing harm to businesses and workers across the country as Wales’ roads slowly grind to a halt.
“20 mph zones should be decided to local councils in local communities, not imposed by Ministers miles away in Cardiff Bay.
“The Welsh Government cannot and should not carry on ignoring the people of Wales.”
