Welsh Conservatives have today welcomed he Prime Minister and Chancellor’s call on the UK’s institutional investors to seize the moment for a ‘Investment Big Bang’ to boost Britain’s long-term growth.
Commenting, Shadow Minister for Finance, Peter Fox MS said:
“The United Kingdom and Wales’ economy possesses a rich pool of assets perfect for long-term investment, and along with the great Welsh entrepreneurial spirit this makes for an exciting future.
“The Covid pandemic represented the biggest shock to the UK economy in 70 years. However, the UK Conservative Government have backed business to the hilt and set Welsh firms on the road to recovery.
“I hope to see the Welsh Labour Government match the UK Conservative Government’s rallying call for business and investment in Wales. instead of putting jobs at risk by peddling fantasy ideas like universal basic income and introducing new taxes.”
